The Lojan Inkeltje Inkle loom is available now!
Just like the full size Lojan Inkle loom, the Inkeltje has been developed in collaboration with Marieke Kranenburg. Although it is a small and compact inkle loom, it has been designed with two routes for the warp. The short route is for weaving smaller test pieces and projects up to 115cm in length, and the long route is for weaving larger bands or straps up to 180cm in length.
The loom is perfect for left-handed or right-handed weavers; it is easily assembled using a simple screw construction and can be set up with the pegs on either side. There is a curved cut-out on the side of the loom so that sheds can be created with both hands, and the top rod can be removed to provide additional warp length for tablet weaving. The warp can be tied up with hand-tied heddles or 160mm Texsolv heddles.
The Lojan Inkeltje Inkle loom measures 43 x 22 x 14cm, has a peg length of 9cm with a diameter of 18mm, and a tension peg with the diameter of 25mm. Each of the pegs have an end cap to help prevent the warp from slipping of the pegs while weaving.
The loom is made from beech laminated wood left unfinished so that it can be waxed, varnished or painted, and includes an inkle shuttle which can be safely stored on the loom with the velcro strap. The non-slip feet help to prevent the loom from moving around and added stabilty can be achieved with the Lojan Table Clamp (available to order separately).
Also included with the Lojan Inkeltje Inkle loom is a Comprehensive Assembly and Weaving Manual, written by Marieke Kranenburg, with a sample pattern to get started with weaving straight away.
