There are two sizes available:
The spindle made from 18 mm beech laminated wood weighs approximately 23 grams,
The spindle made from 25 mm beech laminated wood weighs approximately 29 grams. 
 
Most of the weight is placed on the outer edge of the disc allowing the spindle to rotate and spin longer whilst being very lightweight.
 
You can assemble the spindle whichever way you prefer (two in one)-  either regular as a top whorl spindle, or as a bottom whorl spindle by securing the disc on the opposite end of the hook and use a pencil sharpener to create a point.
 
The package includes a small tool for assembly, sandpaper, and an assembly and spinning guide.
