The Louet Flying Dutchman Shuttle includes two special design features. The curved metal wire over the top of the shuttle increases the speed of weaving. Designer Jan Louet added the wire to help spread apart sticky warp threads as it passes through the shed. The plastic guide at the front of the shuttle allows the yarn on the bobbin to unwind with ease.
