Marigold flowers are a major source of carotenoids and Lutein and is grown for cut flowers and in for its medicinal properties. A huge amount of unused flowers are wasted in many regions of eastern India and disposing of these unused flowers can be environmentally polluting.
Creating a dye extract using these unsold flowers is beneficial for the textile industry and creative dyers for the purpose of dyeing yarns and fabrics. These marigold flower extracts give a bright yellow to orange red colours. This pigment has acquired greater significance because of its excellent colour.
Due to its concentration, the dye extract can be used at a level of 5% which is much lower than other forms of dye powder.
Free of any chemicals or processing aids for extraction.
