On offer some fabulous mixed Ryeland Wool Tops. Mill washed and carded.
Soft and lofty - ideal for spinning, peg loom weaving, felting and much more! Supplied as 100g
Ryeland wool is a soft, bouncy, and highly versatile medium-fine fleece from one of Britain's oldest sheep breeds. Prized by hand spinners and knitters, it is celebrated for its lightweight warmth, excellent elasticity, and ability to hold textured stitches without felting easily.
Characteristics of Ryeland:
- Micron Count: 25 to 28 microns, making it soft enough to be worn comfortably next to the skin.
- Staple Length: 7.5 to 10cm (3 to 4 inches)
- Texture & Crimp: Features dense, blocky staples with abundant fine crimp. This creates tiny air pockets in spun yarn, offering excellent insulating properties.
- Elasticity: Very springy, creating a lofty, resilient yarn
