Muga silk comes from the cocoons of the silkworm belonging to the moth genus Antheraea and is known as “Wild Silk” as the silkworms live in the wild forests belonging to the Terminalia species.

 

  • silk is valued for its rich, coarser texture, warm coloration and is perfect for fibre arts, weaving, knitting and crochet projects bringing individuality and elegance to any fibre project. It is traditionally used to make silk sari’s as it keeps the wearer cool in warm conditions.
