Wonky Weaver™ Originals Acid Milling Dyes in a range of colours.
These dyes are known as Acid Milling dyes as they need heat and an acidic environment to work - usually citric acid is used to create the acidic conditions needed for these dyes to react with the fibre.
Supplied in re-sealable, and recyclable pouches.
The dyes are ideal for use with Protein (animal fibres) including wool, silk, angora, cashmere, alpaca, wool tops, cleaned fleece, feathers etc. For optimal performance always wash the material beforehand to ensure optimal dyeing performance.
When dyeing we recommend the following quantities:
10g citric acid per 100g dry weight of fibre or fabric (10% WOF)
and
0.1g of Dye Powder per 100g dry weight of fibre (0.1% WOF) for pastel shades.
1g of Dye Powder per 100g dry weight of fibre (1% WOF) for a medium colour shade.
2-4g of Dye Powder per 100g dry weight of fibre (2-4% WOF) for deep shades.
Use at least 4g for red and black dyes.
