Wonky Weaver in Llandovery is seeking a keen and enthusiastic apprentice and/or volunteer aged 16+. Our desired candidate should have a passion for or background in design, textiles, art, engineering and science, balanced with a willingness to learn weaving, spinning and dyeing.
Ideal personal characteristics will include creativity, patience, positivity, pro-activity and ambition.
You should be available for at least 8 hours per week, and ideally on a Saturday or Sunday at least in the first instance.
You will be from Carmarthenshire and/or West Wales, but preferably from Llandovery.
In return for your time, Wonky Weaver will provide:
1. Full training on weaving loom technology, set-up, warping, design and weaving across several floor and computerised dobby looms.
2. Access to state-of-the art weaving looms and equipment
3. A paid allowance
4. Sponsorships for formal education and training in textiles, dyeing or other creative arts.
5. Other benefits to be agreed.
